FIRST DRAFT - NOT INTENDED FOR FINAL PUBLICATION / INCORPORATION[]

This page is a work in progress to organize the Ultra dice sets. Other pages for Epic, Rare, etc. sets are also up or coming soon. Please feel free to comment and criticize as necessary. If others agree, this new naming convention could replace or be linked to from the current Dice Sets page.

Thanks for your feedback!

Ultra Dice Sets[]

Template Ultra_A[]

With its strong attack multipliers in the late game, this and template Ultra_B could be considered 'ideal' dice sets. Disappointingly, in both cases, their last three dice do not live up to what comes before.

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Capy (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 68 (272 pts))
  • Codecross (Neutral; core Double Attack die, Capture Dice 75 (300 pts))
  • Covenant Guardian (Neutral; core Double Attack die, Capture Dice 66 (264 pts))
  • Czar Mii (Fire; core Fire Attack die, Capture DIce 65 (260 pts))
  • Hankor (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 70 (280 pts))
  • Liveevil (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 100 (400 pts))
  • Sodium Cloud (Water; core Double Water Attack die, Capture Dice 63 (252 pts))
  • Retinohypothalam (Water; core Triple Water Attack die, Capture Dice 66 (264 pts))

Template Ultra_B[]

This bears strong resemblance to template Ultra_A, but with a few poison dice throughout. With the same strong attack multipliers at the same dice plan positions as template Ultra_A, template Ultra_B is just as powerful.

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Basashi (Fire; core Triple Fire Attack die, Weekly Monsters)
  • Bell Curve (Forest; core Triple Forest Attack die, Capture Dice 78 (312 pts))
  • De Mimic (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 78 (312 pts))
  • Decider For Fates (Neutral; core Triple Poison die, Capture Dice 100 (400 pts))
  • Kloppy Kat (Neutral; core Double Attack die, Capture Dice 69 (276 pts))
  • Orion (Water; core Double Water Attack die, Capture Dice 63 (252 pts))
  • Ricochet (Neutral; core Attack die, Capture Dice 68 (272 pts))

Template Ultra_C[]

This set has the strong attack multipliers present in both templates Ultra_A and Ultra_B, but they are unlocked a little later. After dice plan #13, template Ultra_C is just as powerful.

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Great Dragon (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 88 (352 pts))
  • Green Mind (Forest; core Triple Forest Attack die, Capture Dice 95 (380 pts))
  • Nintoid (Forest; core Double Forest Attack die, Capture Dice 75 (300 pts))

Template Ultra_D[]

With an Attack Multiplier > 2 and > 3 and other decent Multipliers 1-X, this is a formidable set--however, its best multiplier unlocks at dice plan #15, or monster level 99. On monsters that have a triple attack core dice (Hoggly, Finless Shark, Wail) three Triple attack is a really powerful dice set as it dramatically increases the odds of rolling a double, leading to a x5 multiplier. (See Rolling Doubles and Triples)

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Calculord (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Monster Hunter)
  • Chomper (Forest; core Double Forest Attack die, Capture Dice 66 (264 pts))
  • Finless Shark (Water; core Triple Water Attack die, Capture Dice 80 (320 pts))
  • Hoggly (Fire; core Triple Fire Attack die, Capture Dice 100 (400 pts))
  • Patch v1.4 (Neutral; core Double Attack die, Capture Dice 95 (380 pts))
  • Reigndolf (Fire; core Double Fire Attack die, Capture Dice 69 (276 pts))
  • Wail (Water; core Triple Water Attack die, Capture Dice 96 (384 pts))
  • Micro Gigantor (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice ??? (???))

Template Ultra_E[]

With an Attack Multiplier > 1 and > 3 supported by other decent Multipliers 1-X, this set is formidable but less so than template D. Like template D, however, its best multiplier unlocks at dice plan #15, or monster level 99.

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Anguloid (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 80 (320 pts))
  • Death Kiss (Neutral; core Quadruple Attack die, Capture Dice 105 (420 pts))

Template Ultra_G[]

Although the monsters with this template are not specifically listed as “Ultra” by the Monster Catcher, the high Attack Multiplier dice give it similar power.

The following monsters appear to conform to the template below:

  • Generic Jrpg Enemy (Neutral; core Triple Attack die, Capture Dice 74 (296 pts))
